Jon Update
Jon underwent surgery this afternoon and returned from recovery at 8 30pm. He is fine and has been given something so that he feels no pain. Should know more tomorrow about what happens next. Off to have a large glass of wine and a Diesel cuddle !
Great news Jon is fine and the surgeon managed to repair him in one go so no second operation. He will be able to come home next week but will be in a wheelchair for 3 to 6 months. We have a wheelchair access vehicle and I intend to get him to the fun day (camera in hand) and hopefully some local shows. He is just overwhelmed at the good wishes on the blog and the cards which are now pinned up on a notice board by his bed. I am going to take the camera in tomorrow not a pretty sight as he has not shaved since the accident!

Introducing Bluebell

Let me introduce you to Bluebell bred by Mark Walshaw. She gets up to all sorts of mischief and inside 2 days she has already self taught herself to navigate the cat flap and she goes up and down the stairs as if she has been doing it for years, even though she came from a bungalow. She is loved her to bits.
Thanks to Trevor Wolley Bluebell's new Dad, we have seen Bluebell and her litter mates right from when they were first born, I am so pleased that Trevor has sent through the photos so we can continue to see her grow up into a beautiful girl bedlie. I wonder if we will see Bluebell one day in the show ring.

Paula all set for Windsor
Poor Paula has no wellies, how could she possibly go to the Windsor Dog Show in her dainty little shoes! Well as usual Maureen has come to the rescue with a gift of the most fashionable wellies (Kate Moss would give a fortune for these)! Now Paula and her little girl Cindercoat Colour Of magic will arrive at the ringside unblemished.
WANTED, Paula is looking for a camping gaz 907 dumpy gas bottle to go camping with at the Midland Fun day, have you one for sale or one that she could borrow. There is a large gas bottle exchange in Shipston on Stour 4 miles from the venue.
Bedlington Tuesday News
Tony Waller's brother was evacuated from his home at 3am as there is a possibility that the reservoir near his home in Rotherham might burst its banks, we will keep our fingers crossed that the water subsides and he can return home soon.
No problem with the show at Windsor but I am not so sure it is going to be very pleasant for all of you who are camping for South Wales. With the wet ground and all the coming and going on the camping area Newbury is going to have its toll! Let's hope for a few days sunshine.
Jon goes under the knife this afternoon, he still has a slight temperature and had to have a blood transfusion this morning but is fit enough for surgery. I know he is feeling OK as he is getting p....d off and bad tempered at laying there, goodness only knows what he will be like when he comes home. I will update you on his operation hopefully tonight.
Billy's Diane had to go into A and E for treatment after her skin condition flared up but is alright now. Diane can't possibly be out of action with all those pooches waiting for their baths and haircuts at the Million Hairs Grooming Parlour.
Unfortunately I won't be at Windsor this week really too difficult with daily hospital visits but if Jon is on the road to recovery I may be able to go next week as we are only just over an hour from Newbury. I am fairly good with a camera and have 400 shots on the memory card, I won't be able to take Jon's place with all those photos but should manage a few shots of the winning dogs.
The caravan pass arrived this morning for Harewood House I will post it on, sorry I don't have one for all of you .
If you have any news that you would like me to publish on here don't hesitate to call or email me.
Haven't they grown, thanks to Mathew for the latest Mouse babies photo!

Denise Burns is going into hospital on the 17th July for surgery, we all wish her well and for a very speedy recovery. Unfortunately Denise is having to re-home her much loved male bedlington Phoenix age 7-8. A suitable home would be no children, no other dogs , plenty of exercise and lots of cuddles. Please contact me for more details.

Jon update
Saturday PM
Jon was x-rayed last night and Mr Keys the surgeon visited him this afternoon and unfortunately he is going to have to undergo two operations to repair the damage. Mr Keys hopes to perform the first operation on Tuesday. Unless there is any change I won't write anymore until after the operation. I have read out all your good wishes to him over the phone, he thanks you all and especially in your support to help me to keep positive.

Here is picture of Mac after Dawn had waved her magic 'clippers'. Many thanks to Elaine Tuck, for sending through the photo, he certainly looks a real pin up boy, every bedlie girls dream!
Good luck for everyone going to Blackpool tomorrow. I know it is impossible to be taking photos if you are grooming and then showing, but if anyone can help us out with just a few photos of the winning dogs that would be great.
This is another fantastic photograph from Mark.

Bedlington Blog News
Unfortunately I have just about published all the photos you have sent me. Our next Championship show will be at Windsor but if it is a nice day we may go to the National Bedlington Rescue Companion Show next Saturday. In the mean time unless new material is sent in I will have to publish photos of our dogs and anything interesting I can find in the archives. The blog needs to be updated every day, if you can help me out that would be fantastic.

Bedlington Bog News
What a busy weekend for us going from show to show, we had a great time and it was lovely to see everyone, we are already looking forward to our next show. Due to other commitments we will not be at Blackpool and need a volunteer to take a few photos of the winning dogs.
The National Bedlington Terrier Rescue are holding a Companion Dog Show on Sunday June 24th at Worcester Country Park. There are handling classes, the usual fun classes and pedigree classes to include AV Bedlington Dog, and AV Bedlington Bitch. The Country Park is a lovely place to visit, take a picnic and have a great day out.
Don't forget The Midland Fun day on the 28th July. Caravans and tents will now be accepted on to the venue field £4 per night as from the Monday the 23rd. The venue is on the edge of the Cotswolds amongst glorious countryside. There is plenty of space but do book ahead with Maureen. I hope you are all practising for your Kennel Club Good Citizen awards, don't forget there is a special class at Crufts for all those dogs who have achieved the bronze or higher. I have won the Crufts dog class two years running, lets see if you can knock me off top spot in 08!
Once again I thank you all for your support on this blog especially to all those who have recently posted comments for the first time. Let's try and keep the blog a light hearted place to visit. If you share your home with a much loved pet or a top show champion at the end of the day we know they are all very special. To all of those who enjoy showing but have not had a good day in the ring remember there is always another show date in your calendar and you are taking the best dog home. As usual I am very short of photos so unless you want to see endless photos of Diesel you had better dust off that camera and help me to keep this site going. Hopefully we will run another competition soon, I need Maureen back home to think up ideas!
That's it from me until next time.
