The puppy is a Mollora, her pet name is Poppy, but I can’t think what her proper title is. She now has a new owner, I borrowed her for the day, because Jevon, my grandson loves dogs, particularly my old boy, Bergy, who will put up with him for a little while, but soon gets cheesed off, So every now and again I borrow one! I am hoping with the right encouragement Jevon will become a Junior Handler!!!
Kind Regards Carol
Many thanks to Carol Newton for these lovely photos, Jevon seems to be enjoying all the attention from Poppy, there is nothing more cute than puppy and toddler photos.
It was poisoned by daffodil bulbs, apparently they are extremely poisonous & can kill a dog within 2 hours. Luckily she spotted her dog eating one & could advise the vet. The vet then was able to administer the correct serum. Beware!

Vicki & The Boys From Bedlingtowne
Thanks Vicki, I wonder what they are thinking? I like the skunk outfit it tones in well with the blue coat of Jack. If anyone else has some Halloween photos do share them with us.

We picked Heidi up at the airport last night. What a doll baby. I cried when we pulled her from the crate. How could someone neglect such a helpless creature? I'm glad to say she is full of energy! My other 2 bedlies are not sure what to do with her, she bounces around too much. I'm excited for Trish. Can't wait to see how her dog reacts to her new home.
Thank you Deb for sending the photos so quickly, I just love the photo of Heidi curled up, she looks so happy and content! We have been following the story here on the blog and it is great to see one of the rescue dogs in her new home, hopefully Trish will fill us in on how "Story" is settling in on Oracke Island. Do keep us updated on how she is settling in.

Thanks for listening to my story about Heidi. I'm just so excited to give her the life she deserves. No animal should ever live under these conditions.
Take care,

Our next show is on the 2nd November Inlockmeadow Market and we are in AVNSC
good luck with any shows and with puppies.
Thank you Victoria, what a fantastic photo of Jack this week. Agility is all about having fun with your dog, one thing is for a sure a happy well mentally stimulated dog will always perform well in the show ring!

Here is my report for Monday : Well-done to all those who went to Midland Counties Championship Show, we could not make it as to lack of funds. On Saturday we went to Barking Canine Club's Open Show, where we were entered in A.V.N.S.C Terrier. Lilly was entered in Post-Graduate & Rosie in Open. Lilly was placed Third out of five & Rosie Placed VHC (5th) out of six. We have not done many doggie related things this week so there is nothing much to report. We missed entries for L.K.A so we will not be able to go. I am not sure as to what other shows we are going to go to, we will have to wait and see. I hope to see some of you soon.
Sarah, Lilly & Rosie.
PS I could not find any recent photos of the girls so here's a photo of one of our other pets Harry aka Harry Houdini (you can guess why he is called that).
Sarah
Thank you Sarah, I don't think Houdini would last very long if he escaped anywhere in our house or garden. Is Houdini a gerbil?

Well it seems its our turn for the torrential rain and gales, as this week has been awful. The dogs hate it, and I cant say I blame them. I'm supposed to be doing landscape photography with a group of people who are coming up here this weekend, somehow I think it will have to be still life or portrait shots instead!
Well done to Trish for taking on one of the rescue bedlingtons, it will be amazing to see the transformation in this poor wee girl over the coming months. Here is a pic of Cody trying to look all innocent and shy.

STOP PRESS
17 BEDLINGTONS RESCUED FROM NASHVILLE TENNESSE USA
I have cross posted this letter from Sally Schill in the USA
Several of you are already aware of a situation involving the rescue of Bedlington Terrier dogs in the Nashville, Tennessee, area .I am extremely concerned with providing everyone with accurate facts concerning this situation. I have just verified all of the following statements with a member of the rescue team before posting to this list.
FACTS:
1) A private rescue organization in Nashville, Tennessee, was contacted regarding the rescue of "several" Bedlington Terrier dogs
2) The dogs were being turned in to rescue by a "male" person.
3) The "male" person met the rescue volunteers at a gas station to relinquish dogs.
4) The dogs were surrendered to the rescue organization in groups of a few at a time.
5) The dogs surrendered were in filthy, deplorable condition with a variety of medical conditions. 6) There were bitches and dogs surrendered--the approximate number of dogs turned over was approximately 17.
7) All of the dogs have now been shaved down and either have been or will be spayed and neutered due to efforts of the private rescue organization in Nashville.
8) The man who turned over the dogs did tell the rescue volunteers that he "shot" several dogs whom he felt could not be "saved".
9) The dog with what appears to be the worst medical issues seems to be doing fine. The rescue volunteers found a preexisting leg wound on the dog while she was being shaved down. The wound was filled with pus and maggots. A Nashville veterinarian was able to surgically debride and clean the wound of pus and maggots and the dog appears to be doing well and hopefully the leg will be fine.
10) A lady living outside the Nashville, Tennessee, area who had Bedlingtons as a child has made a generous donation to the rescue organization, which has helped to offset many of the medical costs for this rescue.
MY OPINIONS:I n my opinion anyone associated with our breed owes this organization our utmost respect. They have gone beyond the call of duty for our breed. This organization does have a name and a website: http://www.proverbs1210rescue.org/

A letter to the blog from Tricia
I just wanted to let all my UK friends that I will be adopting one of these bedlingtons that was rescued in Tennesee. The little girl I will be getting is, they think between 2 & 3 years old. She was so badly matted that her ears were closed up, she couldn't walk., see and when she urinated it went into her pelt. She had maggot infested cuts on her and has been shaved completely down to treat her skin infections. These dogs didn't know what grass was!! This is the sugar coated version of this appalling story. I am so looking forward to bringing her into my pack and showing her what a good life she is going to have from now on. I will be driving to Norfolk VA, about 4 hours from here to pick her up at the airport on Monday.....as I am each time a get a new dog, I am both nervous and excited. I will keep you posted on our progress. Warm regards from across the pond. Tricia
What dreadful news these poor dogs, how anyone can keep dogs in such dreadful conditions with severe medical problems due to neglect is beyond me. I will keep you updated as I hear the news. Tricia you are wonderful do let me know how little "story" is when she arrives at your home. All our love and thoughts are with you and your new little rescue.
The sun is shining here as well on Friday morning. Lucy and Ben are enjoying the sun. When Lucy sees the sun on the carpet in the dining room she pushes at a chair until I turn it around so that it is in as much sun as possible. Of course I cannot leave my Ben-ben out so he tries to fit on one as well. They are getting on very well and still enjoying each others company. They play together for much of the day. Both enjoy their walks and especially playing in the park as Ben is now allowed off the lead as he is very good at returning when I call - in fact it is Lucy who now 'pretends' to be deaf at times !
Best wishes Dora.
Thank you Dora, great to catch up on how Lucy and Ben are getting along. For those of you who don't know Lucy and Ben they are both rescues which Dora has kindly adopted. Dora is a very special lady as she is one of the few pet owners who is coming to the Copper Toxicosis Seminar. I am really looking forward to meeting Dora who is a regular visitor to our blog.

How nice to see the sun this morning and the gale force winds gone! We are quite exposed here and strong winds have left debris and the grass covered leaves. It is fairly quiet in Bedlingtonland this weekend with just the one big championship show at Stafford ( Midland Counties) Mr David Taylor is judging. It is the UK Agility show at Cheltenham race course also on Sunday, unfortunately we can't be in two places at the same time so won't be at Stafford but any photos for the blog will very much appreciated. I am still trying to get that illusive clear round out of Parker and Fudge just needs one more clear round to qualify into the senior class . With her HTM and agility achievement Fudge is one very special little girl. If you have any news or photos please, please do sent them to me ,that's all for now .

This is Guy, a new bedlington for me at ringcraft. Last night was his first time out and he did Ok although a little shy!
Billy

Good morning from the North East
Well I'm feeling nearly 100% about a 95 but I'm getting there and back to work you can't keep me down for to long, I will be back showing at Doncaster so hope to see some of you there. The week has been just normal, ringcraft Tuesday was good fun still only Whisper as Piper is STILL in season I think she is making up for lost time but it can't last for ever. And god has she grown up I think someone has taken the old Piper and replaced her with a new dog. People told me that she would change but i didn't think it was going to be this much. This is all good and has now turned into a very elegant young lady. Sorry back to ringcraft went off on one there blond moment lol
Ringcraft we had a good turn out and Mel was back so as Mark would say gassing was in full flow dogs doing very well and there was the cutest bulldog you have ever seen started his training. The bedlingtons are still the best! With the honoury beddlys in toe, that is all from me this week good luck to anyone that is showing this weekend Julie x
Photo is Whisper and Loki in the background from Hartlepool show .

Hi there hope you are well we have 3 snaps this week, I wanted to share this post card with you I think it is great, it is from Jan and Pete with their bedlington Bonnie and whippet Sofia. The card was sent from Isle of Sky, it is the Highland cow and calf by Laurie Campbell what a wonderful colour coat. Then we have the hook that Minty swallowed and the name of the vet's practice that worked on her for 3 hours they could not operate as it was in a place which was full of air and gasses so he used an endoscope. If ever you are in the area and need a vet I would highly recommend them, then we have Molly Kevin's 12 year old as you can see still working and loving it.
Talking this week to Steve / Tracy Richard's they both work in the kitchen at the Midland bedlington shows and do a wonderful job. They leave home in Swansea at 4.30a.m to be at the show early they were greatly missed at the last show as Tracy was ill. She has been diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel syndrome and is waiting for an operation on both hands so we wish her all the best.
I am wondering if Viv can give us an update on champ show judges for next year please, look after yourselves and if you are showing good luck.
Thank you Big Mo, we all wish Tracey well and and hope that the operation goes ahead soon and that it won't be long before we see her back at the Midland shows. It is great to see Molly has not lost her hunting skills, I wonder if Bedlingtons have senior moments like me! I can't help you with next year's champ show judges so hopefully Viv will come to the rescue.

As requested by Tina I have enclosed pics of Loki in my little boys Halloween costume as it was the toddler's party today. (He won the prize for best costume) and didn't want to waste it so Loki got a try!!! He's my 'mummy' dog! Bless him!
Thank you Mel, he looks so cute I bet Loki had great fun tearing off all his robes!
Good morning bloggers another day nearer Halloween-hope you're all making outfits for your dogs-don't forget to take some pictures and then Lesley can post them on the blog! The fireworks have started already in our area,I'm glad the dogs are not particularly bothered by them,it's a shame when they get themselves into a state with all the bangs although there are some good products on the market to help keep your dog calm, some of them have to be started a few weeks prior to bonfire night so if your dog is frightened by fireworks it might be a good time to start organising something to relax them in the near future. Good luck to anyone showing or competing this week,LKA on-line entries close 22nd(tomorrow). Till next week Tina.
Good advise from Tina with it coming up to bonfire night, I live in a rural area so no problem from but I know dogs can be terrified of loud bangs, take extra care if you have a puppy at home.
